  • (7:51) Jenni tells a success story of a newer client
  • (9:58) In Jenni’s first success story, her client lost 24 pounds in just 6 weeks, with 4% loss in body fat and 4 lbs of muscle mass gained all in a 6 week period
  • (10:39) His body previously had so much inflammation and when that is the case the body is not going to be focused on losing weight and gaining muscle
  • (11:09) When there is so much inflammation in the body from food sensitivities, the body goes into survival mode, which prevents you from losing weight
  • (12:48) Jake tells his first success story, a golfer who didn’t care about gaining distance but improving his back pain
  • (13:37) His goal was to finish a round of golf without his back being in any pain
  • (13:50) A crazy goal for him was to be able to play 18 holes back to back days without any pain, that was his dream
  • (14:12) First thing we focused on was getting the correct muscles firing, getting in and out of a chair correctly, then standing, then walking, then swinging a golf club
  • (14:47) All of the above was 7 weeks in and at that point he told Jake for the last 3 weeks that he has been able to go a full round a golf and is amazed at how well his back feels afterwards
  • (15:06) This was done by just getting all the correct muscles firing at the right time
  • (16:16) In just 7 weeks he has gone from feeling like death after to a round to not even thinking about his back when he’s finished
  • (16:32) Jenni’s success story #2, about a client that has been with her for over a year now, he originally began coming for personal training
  • (17:28) His main goals were to lose some of the weight he put on during covid and to get some of his strength back. He wanted his strength back to get back to playing tennis how he was before covid
  • (18:04) 1-2 weeks in, we began talking about his diet and Jenni realized reaching his goals was going to be much harder if he didn’t change his diet. 
  • (18:18) He went through the Wellness Program which is more dietary focused. We did that and the personal training together
  • (18:30) Within the first 12 weeks of dietary counseling, he lost about 16 lbs. This is from working out with Jenni twice a week and doing the Wellness Program
  • (18:50) The dietary changes made a huge impact in multiple ways including coordination, balance, agility, lateral quickness. His tennis coach noticed a huge difference
  • (19:30) He has more strength AND energy now. He told Jenni how different his energy is now throughout the entire day. He had always been a morning person but would crash in the afternoon
  • (20:01) His one year transformation has been awesome for Jenni to see. For example: He went from hardly being able to do a push up on his knees to being able to bang them out
  • (20:50) A take home message from this transformation 
  • (21:05) You have to fuel your body correctly, he didn’t realize how much his sugar intake was even though he thought he was eating healthy
  • (22:55) Jake gives a brief summary of a couple of the clients he is working with at Bears Paw Country Club. He is working with 9 golfers and over the past 12 weeks their transformation has been amazing

After graduating from the University of Florida, Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT sought out mentorship first from Bob Seton in Destin, FL and then from Aaron Robles in Jacksonville, FL. Both of these mentors have 20+ years of experience helping people keep active and mobile so they can enjoy high quality active lifestyles. What Jake found was that back pain was by far the most debilitating pain and the highest factor leading to decreased physical activity later in life. These experiences are what inspired Jake to specialize in helping people aged 50+ keep active, mobile and pain free despite the aging process. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to alleviate somebody’s back pain so that they can get back to living their best life- especially in Naples! Over the years of helping 100’s of people aged 65-75 become stronger and pain free, one thing for sure has become apparent: “he who rests rots”. Jake is a firm believer that we become stiff then old, not old then stiff. Seriously, think about it...
